After your organization has purchased SmartMusic, the designated SmartMusic Administrator for your organization will invite you to connect to SmartMusic as a teacher.
- Step 1: open the email invite.
- Step 2: create your new SmartMusic account.
- Step 3: activate your account.
- Next: create a class.
Step 1: open the email invite.
The invite is sent to the email address that your Administrator provides. If you know your Administrator already sent you an invite to the right email address and you do not receive an email, check your junk mail folder and make sure that *@makemusic.com and *@smartmusic.com are added to your email account's safe list, then ask your Administrator to resend it.
Open the Connect to your SmartMusic organization as Teacher email invite.
If this is your first time using the new SmartMusic, click CONNECT AS TEACHER to create your account and connect it to your organization in the role of Teacher. If you already created an account in the new SmartMusic, click CONNECT AS TEACHER to log into that account and connect it to your organization in the role of Teacher (you can then skip straight to creating a class). Step 2: create your new SmartMusic account.
After you click CONNECT AS TEACHER, the Create Your SmartMusic Account page appears, asking you to verify that you are 13 or older (in accordance with the COPPA rule). Answer the age verification question and click Next.
The SmartMusic Terms of Service agreement appears. After you are finished reading the Terms of Service agreement, indicate whether or not you accept the terms of service and click Next.
The Sign Up For Your SmartMusic Account page appears. Fill out your account profile information. All required fields have a red asterisk (*) next to them. Please note that you must create an account using the same email address you received an organization invite from in order to connect to your organization. Click Next when you are finished.
A page appears letting you know that a verification email has been sent to the email address you provided.
Step 3: activate your account.
Open the Welcome to the new SmartMusic email and click ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT. If you did not receive a verification email, make sure you meet SmartMusic's email requirements, then go to https://admin.smartmusic.com/login and log in with your new account information. The Activate Your Account page appears, where you can resend the activation email.
The Login page appears. Enter the email address and password for your new account and click Login to connect the account to your organization in the role of Teacher.
After you log into your new SmartMusic account, a message appears letting you know that you successfully activated your account and accepted the invite to your organization. Select Home.
The SmartMusic application Home page appears.
