After you have created your class, you can create a Grading Calendar that sets up the grading period dates for that class. When you create a new assignment, the assignment due date needs to be within one of the grading period dates that you define in your Grading Calendar. Assignments that have already been assigned before the Grading Calendar was created for your class automatically fall into one of your grading periods, based on the due date (assuming the assignment's due date was within one of your grading periods). Once a Grading Calendar has been created for one of your classes, it can easily be used for another.
