When a student creates a SmartMusic account with their school email address, resetting the password can sometimes be tricky. Take advantage of the Backup Email feature for easy password resets.




If your students cannot receive messages from SmartMusic through the primary email address on their accounts, they can set up a Backup Email address. This means that when a student resets their password on the login page, the password reset email is sent to both the primary email address and the Backup Email address.


If you'd like the option to change your students' passwords for them, you can ask your students to add your own email address in the Backup Email field. Students can also enter a parent or guardians's email address or their own personal email address. 


The Backup Email can be added initially when creating an account or it can be added after an account is created by editing the user profile.
