After you have finished customizing your Sight Reading template, you can save it directly to your SmartMusic account or download it to your computer. You can also open locally saved Sight Reading templates to edit and assign at any point.

Save your Sight Reading template to your SmartMusic account.

 

To save your Sight Reading template to your SmartMusic account, select File. The File page appears and choose save_to_account_button.png. Enter in the name of your Sight Reading template and select Save.

Save your Sight Reading template locally.

 

Select save_locally_button.png to save your Sight Reading template to your computer. Enter in the name of your Sight Reading template and select Save. This downloads a .srspec file to your computer and it can be found in your Downloads folder. The saved template will only contain the parameters you customized.

Open a locally saved Sight Reading template.

 

To open a Sight Reading template that was saved locally to your computer, select open_saved_template_button.png. Select Load to choose a .srspec file from your computer.

Save your score as MusicXML.

 

If you'd like to save the music score currently on screen as a MusicXML file, select save_as_musicxml_button.png and select Save as MusicXML. This downloads a .musicxml file and it can be found in your Downloads folder. The MusicXML file can be opened in notation software like Finale and or imported into SmartMusic to be edited.

Assign your Sight Reading template.

 

You can assign your Sight Reading template directly from Sight Reading Builder. Select assign_button.png and choose Assign to bring up the Assigner in SmartMusic. Take a look at our Assignment creation article to create the assignment.
