After an assignment has been created, variables like the assign on date, due date, whether to allow late submissions, and the students receiving the assignment can be adjusted.

Step 1: open the Gradebook.

 

Select the Navigation Icon Hamburger.pngand choose Gradebook for Teachers

The Platform & Classes page appears. Use the drop-down menus to select the desired Platform and Class. Select the Pencil icon edit.png under the name of the assignment you want to edit.

The Editing an existing assignment dialog box appears. Select the X to return to the Platform & Classes page. Select the Edit timeline and students button to continue.

Step 2: select a date.

 

The Assign To Your Students tab appears. Here, assignment details are displayed. The Rubric Points and Class cannot be changed.

Choose your new Assign to students on and Due on dates and times either by selecting the calendar icons or by typing into the fields. A message appears below the fields, telling you what grading period the assignment will be included in.

If the selected dates conflict, the following error may appear:

Select a new due date or edit the grading calendar

 

If you'd like to allow your students to submit the assignment past the due date, select Allow late submissions and choose the date and time you'd like to allow late submissions until.

 

Step 3: select students.

 

If you'd like students that enroll late to automatically receive this assignment as well, leave Include late enrolled students selected. To assign this task to all students, select Assign to all students. Any existing or graded submissions will remain in the Gradebook.

Select Assign to some students to add or remove specific students to an assignment. A list of students in the selected class appears. Select Assign all at the top of the column to select or deselect the full student list. 

 

Please note, if you deselect a student that has a Has Already Submitted or Is Already Graded label, any existing submitted or graded assignments associated with that student are deleted.

Select the students you want to assign the task to and select Add students. A confirmation message appears giving you a summary of your changes. Select Ok.

Select the arrow in the orange circle to finish assigning the task. Changes will not be finalized if you do not select this.

The Task Successfully Assigned dialog box appears. Click I'm done to complete the assignment editing process.

These changes appear in the Gradebook after 30 seconds.
