MakeMusic Cloud has different levels of access depending on your role in the platform. You can learn the differences between Administrator and Educator roles as well Student and Educator access levels below.

Administrator Access

The main purpose of the Administrator role is to manage the MakeMusic Cloud platform. Creating an account with only Administrator access does not take up any paid seats on the MakeMusic Cloud platform. This means that school administrators, department chairs, or technical support teams have easy access to view and edit access for all users on the MakeMusic Cloud platform. It is possible to connect to MakeMusic Cloud as both an Administrator and a Teacher.

An Administrator can view all current Administrators and invite users to connect as Administrators. Administrators can also view all current Teachers, invite new Teachers, and edit Teacher access

Administrators have oversight on all classes created on their MakeMusic Cloud platform. This means that Administrators can view classes created by Teachers, as well as the Students who are enrolled in those classes. Administrators can edit class access and individual Student access.

Teacher Access

There are two levels of access available for Teachers: Free Access and Full Access.

Free Access Teachers can create Free Classes, enroll students, and create assignments from our Free Selections category in MakeMusic Cloud. Free Access Educators do not consume a paid Educator seat on the MakeMusic Cloud platform. There is no limit to the number of Teachers who can connect to a MakeMusic Cloud platform with Free Access.

Full Access Teachers can use all the teaching tools available in MakeMusic Cloud like the Compose Tool and Sight-Reading Builder. Additionally, they can create Free or Paid Classes. See the Student Access section below for information regarding the different Class and Student Access levels.

An Administrator or Teacher can allocate Print seats to connected Teachers (with Teacher subscriptions) and Performers (students enrolled in a Paid class). With a Print subscription, a teacher or student can print for their personal use any printable title from the MakeMusic Cloud library. Printable titles display the print icon print_icon.JPG in Find Music.

Student Access

A student's access is based on the type of class they are . Students can be enrolled in multiple classes with different access levels. A Student will only ever consume one seat. The seat consumed will be the highest access level to which the Student is connected. There are three different access levels for Students: Free, Full, and Print (an add-on to the Full subscription).

Free Access is given to Students only enrolled in Free Classes. Students with this access level can open content on their own from the Free Selections category of the MakeMusic Cloud library or have content from the Free Selections category assigned to them.

Full Access is given to Students enrolled in Paid Classes. Students with this access level can open content on their own from the Free Selections and Method Book categories of the MakeMusic Cloud library. Students with Full Access can also be assigned any content from the MakeMusic Cloud Library or any Uploaded Content.

Print Access allows a student to print out music for to work with offline. Printable titles display the print icon print_icon.JPG in Find Music.

Students who have already purchased Performer subscriptions on their own can join Student-Funded classes, explore, and open any title from the MakeMusic Cloud library. For more information, see Purchasing a Performer subscription.
