After assigning exercises to students, I'm unable to assign to individuals who enroll after the initial assignment has been made to the class.  Attempts to do this through the assigner apparently won't allow this flexibility; if you try to open/edit an existing assignment to add these late students, it will either repeat the assignment for all (if you leave all checked + the new students) or will delete the assignment from those already in the class if you attempt to assign to only the "new" students.  As I recall, Classic provided the ability to simply click on the blank spot in the gradebook to assign an exercise or activity to individual students. I did order a few Classic practice room subs, so maybe I can access gradebook through one of those and do a workaround, but, when you guys inevitably stop supporting the old platform...

Honestly, the level of frustration my students (and myself) have experienced over the past 18 months, the lack of intuitive processes in using "new" SmartMusic, poor recording quality, and weak response to questions and concerns both online and by phone have rendered SmartMusic not worth the expense (we provide Premium access for our entire instrumental program).  You all should be seriously concerned--and should have been for awhile.  As a user of this product since the Vivace days, and your notation products since MusicProse, my disappointment couldn't be more real.  

As they say, all good things must come to an end.  Sadly, we are headed in that direction after another $3000+ investment in your technology this year.

    I can't help you, but I'm glad I'm not the only one frustrated. I'm a little sad that we spent more money on the new version this year that is missing a lot of the features I liked from the Classic, including the grading piece that you mentioned. I'm also kind of appalled that nobody responds to any of the queries here. Why host a "discussion" board if nobody is getting any responses? 

     

    I think we'll switch back to the old version next school year. Unfortuntately, our subscription is up in the beginning of November, which makes the changeover a little odd.

    Nor am I in a position to help, but I echo all of your complaints, and they validate my incredibly frustrating experiences this entire school year with this, my first experience of SmartMusic.  I SO wanted it to be a valuable teaching tool, but it has wasted so much of my time, my students' time, my tech support guys' time.  I work hard to be as professional as possible in my role as teacher, and these issues with SmartMusic have had  a negative impact on that goal.

    I’m really sorry I have no idea what’s going on with this app... I’m also having difficulty’s with it... not the same but still issues
