On Smartmusic it makes me play 4 beats on a whole note. It occasionally makes me play 2 beats on a half note. On ties, it makes me play on both notes connected by the tie. Has anyone encountered any of these issues with Smartmusic? Does anybody have some advice I could use to solve these problems?

Thank you for you help I appreciate it!

This is yet one more reason to listen to all submissions and adjusting the grades. Incredibly time consuming!

After you record a song. Hold down shift and click on the "Save" button under my takes. 3 files will download to your computer. Open a Smartmusic ticket and attach those three files. Send that to Smartmusic. They won't be able to fix stuff unless that have more details about what's going on.

I always feel like an idiot opening a ticket because they respond like it's my fault. Give them the files so that they can see that it's NOT our fault.

Band Director here - agreed, Smartmusic simply does not work consistently for percussion when assessing with Chromebooks. Frustrating... 2nd school year of having trouble.

For this reason - and many others, I am likely bailing on SMARTMusic going forward.  I've been using it for 6-7 years, and I just don't feel it is justified spending the money on student accounts when the accuracy is so limited.  I am probably going to get it the teacher edition and one or two student accounts so I can use it in class on the projection screen.

My student barely use it since there is no practice log any more (like in classic) so, it is really a waste.  They open it the day an assignment is due (after practicing off the paper) an do 2-3 takes and send it in.  Many excel....some do not.....but they aren't PRACTICING with it.

I can accomplish the same recordings (using the paper) through Google Classroom for free.
