I'm trying to reconcile these two screenshots. Doesn't September 15 fall between August 21 and December 18? 

I've tried deleting and re-creating the grading calendar and starting over several times to create the assignment, but I get this red-letter message every time. What am I missing?

  I had to archive my classes...basically start over and that cleaned up a lot of stuff.  Did you have at least one student enrolled in the class?  That's what it took to get things (I think ) on track.

  I got a similar issue, but found that you can't assign something during the 1st grading period and make it due during the 2nd grading period. I want my students to have time to work on their assignments since they can't save takes. The limitations of the new program push me away every day!
