Old smart music showed how long each student worked on their assignment. It is helpful to know if a student spent 3 hours on an assignment and was only able to get an 80% as their best. It shows me they spent a lot of time and either are struggling or need help learning how to practice. 

 

Please add a note when an assignment gets turned in as to how long each student spent on the assignment.

    Yes - this helps us when grading students assignments. Some work REALLY hard and just can't get a good score, while others play for 30 seconds and quit. This also helps us as teachers keep students honest when discussing how much time they ACTUALLY practice at home.

    Yes. This would be great to have. It would be wonderful if you could see the time worked on the assignment when you are grading the assignment.

    Yes, please consider incorporating this classic feature into the New SmartMusic. I was part of another thread regarding this and was redirected to this thread. Currently I have to have two screens open with the Practice report/log and the assignment and it is time consuming clicking back and forth for each student on both screens and also trying to determine which minutes were for the assignment at hand.Thank you!

    It would also be great to be able to hover over class bar graph or awards and see which students were included in the data or which students were assigned the award.

    Anyone still using Classic SmartMusic and seeing "0 minutes" on all assignments? What's up with that? This is only my 2nd year using the program, still working out a lot. Thanks!

    Please add this feature to the new smart music. It's too much work to go through every students practice report. Just add how long they practiced in the grading area of an assignment.

    I TOTALLY AGREE!  You first received this request 2 YEARS AGO.  It's way past time to make this happen.

    It would be very helpful to have the total number of minutes spent on every assignment show up along with the grade, screen shot and recording- just like CLASSIC.  thank you.

    ABSOLUTELY!  Especially with the way the low scores of assessments still have not been addressed.  If a student submits a 50% after the first time playing it, that is very different than a student working on something for 1/2 hour and still only getting a 50%.  We need to see that.

    The problem though is enterprising students.  Many years ago in the early days, I would have a few kids start "working" on something, and then just leave it running.  Smartmusic thinks they are practicing when they are actually down at 7-11 getting a Slurpee.  It would be a nice feature, but understand that its not bullet-proof.

    Yes, this is such a valuable feature for teachers. Please add it back in. Additionally, please add the time the student submitted the assignment. It’s also incredibly helpful to know if they submitted it at 10pm the day it was due.

    Agree. How else can we see the effort put into an assignment? And the Practice Analysis is just irritating. You have to click out of the assignment and a few more clicks to see how much a student practiced, but still have to guess how much time was spent on which assignment.
