(UPDATED)

I am not aware that this feature currently exists. I grade assignments the day after they are due, but I have two issues with the way SmartMusic handles late assignments.

(FIXED)1. Late assignments disappear from students' Pending Assignments box. Students must click "see all" and then their class to see the late assignment. This is very confusing to students and just an extra unnecessary step to find an assignment that some students are already looking for an excuse to not complete. (FIXED)

2. I do not receive any kind of notification when a student submits a late assignment that is auto-graded. I have to rely on the student to remember to tell me to go in and check. SmartMusic should send an email notification so that I know to go in and transfer the grade to our district gradebook.

I have received more than a few angry emails from parents asking why their child's grade is still marked missing because I was not notified that an assignment was submitted!

It would help me if the grade book would keep a late assignment outlined in red, then fill it in blue to be graded, then with the grade color after it is completed.  My school requires me to deduct points from late assignments, and I have a really hard time knowing if an assignment was turned in late, unless I re-open each one and check the date.

A notification is helpful for assignments that are graded automatically.

    I agree it's very frustrating.

I agree with keeping the red outline for late submissions.  I deduct 10 points for late assignments and having to do that in the from their overall submission grade seems less like a penalty and more like a you didn't practice enough.  Knowing which ones were late after validating would be very helpful!!!!

Agree...leave the assignment in the student’s todo list. The ability/option to set a default late points deduction would be helpful.

I agree with the red outline for late assignments. Our school also requires us to take a percentage off for late assignments. It is not easy to see if it's late. Why are so many of the good features from Classic missing on the New SmartMusic?

And this should be such an easy fix! Just do it!
