 I am using selections from a piece we are playing for state contest as assignments. I am creating them in Finale and exporting the xml file with the appropriate part and number (ex. Trumpet1.xml) and when I import them I label them as Trumpet 1 in the importer. However, when I then go to assign the parts it does not keep the numbering on the parts in the assigner window. 

Is there a work around for this other than uploading a new book every time I have multiple instrument parts?

  I'm relatively new, but a workaround could be to create a movement within the book for each part. That way you can name the movement whatever you want to specify which part it is. It's not the solution you're looking for, but at least you keep it all in one book.
