Hi! I'm a new user of SmartMusic, and I came into it being very excited. I was initially very excited to continue using and paying after the free period ended (I have a child playing violin as well as another playing trumpet). However, I'm running into serious issues with playing songs with accompaniement and a separate "my part" (melody) components. I guess this functions like a MIDI score basically?

Anyhow, on bother of my computers, one a Chromebook running... Chrome :) and one an Ubuntu PC running the latest Chrome, all songs I've tried so far suffer from the melody (i.e. violin or trumpet part) lagging behind the accompaniement after a while. A horrible and unusable example as it is is the Spooky Solos for trumpet, and "In the Hall of the Mountain King". When the song reaches the faster section, the trumpet part is completely out of sync! The same thing with for example Suzuki Violin 1 and "Perpetual Motion", although here the delay is not so drastic but still so severe that it's quite noticable.

I'm having the same problem.  The faster the Tempo the more that the solo lags.

I have a similar issue.  When I assign my students music to practice, the accompaniment and metronome tempos fluctauate - going faster, then sloewr. This is unacceptable.  I have emailed the Tech support people.  Will let you know if I hear anything helpful.

I've been having a similar issue and it's driving me up a wall.

I'm a middle school teacher, and I've been using SmartMusic during this virtual school year with my students. It seems to have been working fine, and just last week I recorded a few horn parts for a faculty virtual performance of Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, which went fine. Today, however, I went in to make some recordings to bolster my students' winter concert performance (adding some more low brass and aux percussion parts that the kids just don't have at home) and it seems like no matter which piece I select or perform, the cursor, metronome, and recording REFUSE to line up.

The cursor always takes off and winds up multiple beats ahead of the recording and the metronome, which tend to stick together. What is happening? At the end of the day I should just play with the recording and it will suit my needs, but it's incredibly disorienting to see all these red/yellow notes showing up despite being 100% in time with the recording and metronome.

This is infuriating. I'm starting to understand how my students feel.
