I have purchased a teacher subscription and would like for my students to join my class (free student account). Will I be able to assign "standard" content to my students?

I would also like to know this.  We are face-to-face right now, but I need to prepare my students for going virtual again.  I don't  want to purchase a teacher account if my students ALSO have to buy an account.

I believe, with the Free Student Account, they can only access the free material and any material you import yourself, but not the Standard material within the program.

You can assign them standard music and then they can see it. Though, Smartmusic is gitching today and doesn't seem to want to work right, even though it's been doing it fine for the past almost month.

Does anyone ever reply to these questions from SmartMusic?

I "began' with a free trial, had my students register and things were moving along smoothly.

Then I purchased the $80 subscription and I cannot assign anything except the free titles.

    I'm QUITE annoyed simply because:

    1. Customer Service is non-existent via email (waited almost a week for reply) , no phone, etc,

    2. There is ONE FREE selection that is for a choir - the warm ups and drills are great but ONE free choral selection? Wowza.

Can anyone offer advice since my colleague has the same subscription ( we signed up separately) and they can use it freely without issue...

    Appreciate any guidance -

Have used SmartMusic here in the UK for countless years and I have to say this new version is nowhere

as good as the previous version. I will not be recommending this to my colleagues in the future.

The ability to change some of the exercises into another key is missing.

Wifi can be a real issue at times in some schools especially when moving from school to school.

I'll stick with it for now, may I might come round.

I also have the same question.  But I see we don't get any answers from the corporate here?

    Hi Barb,
I have received a response and responded back to SmartMusic.  Here is a copy of that exchange (starting from most recent.)  I still don't know what is going on with the tempo fluctuations, but at least SmartMusic is finally addressing the issue.  If we ever get a fix to this, I will post the results on this message board.

    Hi Mary,

Thanks for contacting MakeMusic Customer Support.

Please accept my apology for the delay in responding. Due to many factors related to the COVID19 pandemic, our team has been overwhelmed with a large backlog of support tickets, and as a result our response time has been significantly delayed. I hope this email finds you well, and I appreciate your patience as we look into this matter.

Given the time that has passed since your request, this issue may have been resolved. If not, can you please send me the name of a specific piece that this is occurring on and what instrument and part the student is playing? Please also let me know if this is happening on more than one piece.

This new version of SmartMusic does not have intelligent accompaniment like Classic did on some titles, meaning, the tempo of the piece would stay fixed regardless of the players accelerando or ritardando so tempo fluctuations in the accompaniment and metronome should not be occurring. The only exception to this would be if a tempo change is written into the piece for a different section or in the case of a Fermata, Caesura, or G.P.

If this is occurring, there may be a bug in the piece or it may be the result of poor network connectivity. Again please send a specific example so we can do a test for this.

    All the best,

Kelly K. | Customer Support Representative | MakeMusic, Inc.

When I assign my students music to practice, the accompaniment and metronome tempos fluctuate - going faster, then slower. This is unacceptable, especially since she is paying for this service. Please advise.
