We are investigating an issue where some iPad users will experience low playback volume for MakeMusic Cloud accompaniments, and this may be the case when playing back through external speakers/headphones as well as the iPad speakers. The playback volume becomes quiet after allowing microphone access in Safari. On the other hand, if the user chooses Cancel in the microphone access prompt, playback volume will be normal.

Choosing Cancel in the mic access prompt might serve as a workaround if you are using MakeMusic Cloud for playback and practice but do not need to record your playing or receive an assessment. If you allow the microphone in order to record, we recommend using headphones. Using headphones will allow you to listen to the accompaniment without the mic picking it up, which helps with assessment accuracy, and it may also alleviate the low playback volume versus playing through internal iPad speakers.
