Supported mobile devices

MakeMusic Cloud’s Interactive repertoire can now be opened for playback, recording, and assessment on mobile devices! Both Android and iPhone/iOS devices are supported.

Note: Please use Chrome on Android phones and Safari on iPhone/iOS, as Chrome for iOS is not yet officially supported.

Using MakeMusic Cloud on mobile

As this is our initial release, mobile does not yet have all of the features of the desktop version, and we will be continually updating this.

Mobile supports playback and recording of an Interactive title. Only the most recently-recorded take can be replayed under More Options icon. When a new take is recorded, the previous one will be deleted automatically. Saving takes is available on desktop, laptop, and Chromebook.

Submitting assignments is not yet available on mobile. As a result, students are currently blocked from opening assignments from their Homepage and Gradebook, though they can open Recently Graded assignments. They can also open any Interactive title from the Music Catalog they'd like to practice.

After opening a piece, choose the Change Music icon to view a different instrument or movement. Choose the Audio Settings icon to adjust playback options such as Accompaniment, My Part,  Metronome, Swing playback options, subdivisions, tempo, and count-off.

Best practices

Headphones* are not required but are still recommended when playing with accompaniment, though they should be unplugged when calibrating the microphone**.

* Note that Bluetooth headphones are not officially supported at this time, as the delay inherent in wireless connections prevents accurate assessment.

** The microphone will stay enabled in your mobile browser until you either close the tab or tap Back to exit the Practice app. Our team is aware of this issue and working on potential solutions.
